Metalix has developed 3D Integration CAD Link – an intuitive interface, enabling a direct and efficient transfer between CAD systems (such as Solid Edge®, SolidWorks®, Autodesk® Inventor®, Pro/ENGINEER® and Vertex G4®) and cncKad.
See below CAD Link's Benefits, Capabilities and Where does it apply.
- This feature shortens the transfer time from design to production
-
Part attributes are transferred directly between the systems, bypassing the need for intermediate formatting
- Potential for errors is minimized
- No need to edit the incoming data
- Complete integrity between the part in the CAD system and the part in cncKad is maintained
-
Updates to the part performed in the CAD system retain the technological decisions made in the CAM system, with almost no need to reprocess the part
Using CAD Link's update feature, menu and toolbar options, you can work on your 3D model in the CAD system, continuously updating the flattened representation in cncKad, seeing the results in real time:
-
Changes to existing 3D entities in the model will be reflected in their 2D counterparts
-
Punches or Cuts will be automatically updated according to the new dimensions
-
Newly added entities will be shown on the 2D part, ready for processing
-
Any new bends inserted into the 3D model will be shown as bend lines on the 2D part
CAD Link is particularly useful for shop-floor production, as a part can be designed in the CAD system, processed in cncKad and sent straight to the machine.
